Identifying the immune correlates of protection for infectious diseases to improve vaccine efficacy. To effectively treat viral infections we must first understand how the protective immune response develops. We try to identify the specific mechanisms which contribute to immune function, viral control. We are interested in viral sepsis, how obesity alters immune function, and how cross-reactive T cells contribute to viral control.
